I agree with Shaq, the MVP should be an individual award not a team award. 36 is getting up there in NBA Years, but it's not a death sentence and it's not ancient. If LeBron averages 27.5 ppg, 6.1 apg, 7.3 rpg, 1.5 spg, 0.8 bpg, 85% FT, 65% FG at 41 years old and doesn't get the MVP award that year, then the MVP award doesn't mean a thing and is a joke in my opinion. LeBron should be able to pull down these numbers still by 40 because he does spend a $1 million a year taking care of his body.

Even with the thought of the MVP being a singular person award it should still go to steph. This warriors team is a middle school basketball team without Steph on it and now they're in a position to be in the playoffs? Lakers without Bron? In the playoffs. Sixers without Embiid? Probably in the playoffs, they picked up a lot of good assets this free agency. Denver is in the same position as the Warriors and they have BETTER players. Steph deservers MVP. Prolific scorers need a different award. The most valued players should have a more rounded game. If Steph can’t stop the man he’s guarding (Fred Van Vleet) it kinda defeats the purpose. Great scorer no doubt, best 3pt shooter to this day but he’s not stopping nobody. James Harden eat triple doubles and now leads the league in assists. You have to at least be a double threat is all I’m saying.

They robbed Harden the year when Giannis won 2019 MVP, dude was on a 30+ game streak of having 30+ points without CP3 and Capella....also with the highest usage rate and still propelling his team to the playoffs by himself. But ppl still gave it to Giannis. And now Steph doesn't have Klay for the season and Wiseman is out for a considerable amount of time. LBJ has Anthony Davis, Luka has Porzingis, Giannis has Middleton and Jrue Holiday, Jokic has Murray, Embid has Simmons, etc. If Steph can bring up his team to the Top 3-4 seed by himself, then I don't think anyone can deny him MVP.

LeBron doesn't deserve it based on his play. His stats right now would rank as the worst individual stats for an MVP since Nash. His team has played 29 games and 9 of those were against current top ten teams. They have gone 4-5 in those games. Embiid should be the front runner right now, it's clear how much his team needs him, it's just that he needs to stop missing games.

why should the MVP voting have to take the record of the team the player is on into account!? To win means that \ the entire team is pitching in, not one person. Yes, one person can carry their team, but you can't do that every night. A win is a team effort and how many wins you have should not reflect whether or not you should be MVP. It is a player award, not a team award. If that's true, I'm voting for Jordan Clarkson for MVP just because he is on the Jazz and they has the best record as of 2/16/21.
